Our Favorite Farmers Markets

From fresh flowers and organic produce to goat yoga classes and candle making, you never know what you’ll find on a given Saturday when you visit one of our favorite local farmers markets:

Green Market at Piedmont Park

Location: Piedmont Park’s 12th Street and Piedmont Avenue entrance.

When: March – December, every Saturday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm

In partnership with the City of Atlanta, Piedmont Park Conservancy’s Program Department hosts the Green Market, a local farmers market in popular and historic Piedmont Park. The market has an average of 30 to 40 vendors each week, everyone from local farmers, bakers and sauce makers. Prepared foods are available along with live music, chef demonstrations, kids’ cooking classes, seasonal arts and crafts and healthy eating classes.

Decatur Farmers Market

Location: 308 Clairemont Ave on the First Baptist Church lawn.

When: April – December, every Wednesday from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm and every Saturday from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm

The Decatur Farmers Market is an open-air gathering that supports organic, local and sustainable foods, and we mean local – market vendors only sell produce grown within 100 miles of Decatur. This market, along with Grant Park, Westside and East Atlanta Village is part of the My Market Club, a partnership between Georgia Organics and Community Farmers Market. Each time you visit one of the participating markets, you’re rewarded with swag like gift cards and market goodies.

East Atlanta Village Farmers Market

Location: 572 Stokeswood Avenue

When: April – November, every Thursday from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Consistently recognized as one of the best outdoor farmers markets in the city, the East Atlanta Village Farmers Market is one of Atlanta’s most popular and well-attended markets. Providing local and seasonal produce since 2006, the EAV Farmers Market has been a long-time champion of the food movement in Atlanta. Whether you’re looking for bread, eggs, or vegetables (all sustainable, ethically produced and grown), prepared meals for dinner, or artisan goods like soaps and even jewelry.

Ponce City Farmers Market

Location: 675 Ponce de Leon Avenue

When: April – November, every Tuesday from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Located under “The Shed” just outside of Ponce City Market, the Ponce City Farmers Market is located directly on the Beltline and is the only farmers market in Georgia primarily attended by pedestrians and cyclists. The market hosts some of Atlanta’s finest local food talent, including urban farmers, artisanal food makers, as well as pop-up chefs. A producer-only market, the Ponce City Market features vendors who sell only products that they grow or produce themselves. The farmers use organic practices (some going even beyond organic) to help steward the earth while producing the freshest and most nutritious food available in Georgia.

Morningside Farmers Market

Location: 1393 N Highland Ave

When: Year-round, every Saturday from 8:00 am – 11:30 am

Established in 1995, the Morningside Farmers Market is the first and only farmers market in Atlanta that requires all produce to be certified organic. In addition, the Morningside market is a producer-only market, all produce is grown by the farmers who are at market. All foods and crafts made by the producers at market. No “re-sellers” or middlemen allowed!

Marietta Square Farmers Market

Location: 65 Church Street

When: Year-round, every Saturday from 9:00 am – noon and May – October every Sunday from noon – 3:00 pm

One of the most popular farmers markets around is located just a few miles north of Atlanta in historic Marietta. The Marietta Square Farmers Market is a year-round marketplace that features over 65 vendors offering as much selection as many local grocery stores including everything from vegetable and fruit to locally sourced meats and sweets. Arrive empty handed and leave with everything you need to make from-scratch meals at home. You can even dress your dinner table with freshly cut local flowers.”
